The Ant and the Grasshopper

One summer day, a grasshopper was hopping and singing in the meadow. He saw an ant carrying a grain of wheat to its nest. The grasshopper said, "Why are you working so hard, ant? Come and play with me. It's such a beautiful day."

The ant replied, "I'm storing food for the winter. You should do the same, grasshopper. Winter is coming soon and there will be no food to eat."

The grasshopper laughed, "Winter is far away. There is plenty of food now. Why worry about the future? I'd rather enjoy myself."

The ant shook its head and continued its work. The grasshopper ignored the ant and kept playing.

Soon, winter came and the weather turned cold. The grasshopper was hungry and cold. He went to the ant's nest and begged for some food.

The ant said, "Where were you when I was working hard in the summer? You were wasting your time playing and singing. Now you have to face the consequences."

The ant closed the door of its nest and left the grasshopper outside.

The grasshopper realized his mistake, but it was too late.

Moral: Work today and you can reap the benefits tomorrow.
