The Reward of Kindness

Once, there was a young man named John who was working as a clerk in a hotel. He was kind and helpful to everyone, especially the elderly guests.

One day, an elderly couple came to the hotel and asked for a room. John checked the availability and found that there was only one room left, but it was very expensive. He knew that the couple could not afford it, so he decided to do something for them. He used his own money to pay for the difference and gave them the room at a lower rate. He also helped them with their luggage and made sure they were comfortable.

The couple was very grateful and thanked John for his generosity. They asked him his name and where he was from. John told them that he was from a small town and that he had a dream of becoming a lawyer someday. The couple smiled and wished him all the best. They said they would remember him in their prayers.

The next day, the couple checked out and left a note for John. It said:

"Dear John,

Thank you for your kindness and hospitality. You have made our stay very pleasant and memorable. We are very impressed by your honesty and integrity. You have a bright future ahead of you. We want to help you achieve your dream of becoming a lawyer. Please accept this cheque as a gift from us. It is enough to cover your tuition fees for law school. We hope you will use it wisely and make us proud.

We are not just any guests. We are the owners of this hotel chain. We came here to inspect the quality of service and staff performance. You have passed our test with flying colors. You are an asset to our company and we would like to offer you a promotion. You can choose any hotel in our chain to work as a manager. You will also get a scholarship to study law part-time.

We are very happy to have met you and we hope to see you again soon.

Sincerely,

Mr. and Mrs. Smith"

John was stunned and speechless when he read the note. He could not believe his eyes. He felt tears of joy and gratitude in his eyes. He thanked God for his blessing and ran to the reception to call the couple. He wanted to thank them personally and accept their offer.

Moral: Kindness is a powerful virtue that can change lives for the better. Be kind and helpful to others, especially those who are in need. You never know who they are or what they can do for you in return. Kindness always pays off in the end.
