How Riya Helped a Lonely Old Man Find Happiness

Riya was a girl who loved to help others. She always volunteered at her school, her community, and her church. She liked to make people happy and smile.

One day, she noticed a new neighbor moving in next door. He was an old man who lived alone. He had a lot of boxes and bags that he carried with difficulty. He looked tired and sad.

Riya felt sorry for him and decided to help him. She went to his door and knocked. He opened the door and saw her smiling face.

"Hello, sir. I'm Riya. I live next door. I saw that you are moving in and I wanted to help you. Do you need any assistance?" she asked.

The old man was surprised and touched by her kindness. He said, "Hello, Riya. I'm Ramesh. Thank you for your offer. That's very nice of you. Yes, I could use some help. I have a lot of things to unpack and arrange."

Riya said, "No problem, Ramesh uncle. I'm happy to help. Let me get my gloves and I'll be right back."

She ran to her house and got her gloves. She came back and helped Ramesh uncle with his boxes and bags. She carried them inside and helped him unpack and organize them. She also helped him clean his house and decorate it with some flowers and pictures.

She worked hard and fast, but she also talked and listened to him. She learned that he was a retired teacher who had lost his wife and son in an accident. He had no other family or friends. He had moved to this town to start a new life.

Riya felt sad for him and wanted to cheer him up. She said, "Ramesh uncle, you are very brave and strong. You have been through a lot, but you have not given up hope. You have a lot to offer to this world. You have a lot of wisdom and experience that you can share with others. You are not alone. You have me as your friend."

Ramesh uncle smiled and said, "Thank you, Riya. You are very kind and sweet. You have made me feel welcome and appreciated. You have brightened my day with your help and your words. You are a true friend."

They finished their work and sat down for a cup of tea. They talked some more and laughed together. They found out that they had many things in common, such as their love for books, music, and nature.

They decided to visit each other often and spend time together. They also decided to join some clubs and activities in their neighborhood where they could meet more people and make more friends.

They became good friends and enjoyed each other's company.

They learned a valuable lesson that day. They learned that helping old people is not only a good deed, but also a rewarding experience . They learned that old people have a lot to offer and need a lot of love. They learned that friendship has no age limit.

The end.
