Sam was a brave boy who liked to explore new places. He lived near a forest that had many secrets and mysteries. He often went there with his dog, Spot, to look for adventure.
One day, he found a cave that he had never seen before. He was curious and wanted to see what was inside. He told Spot to wait outside and entered the cave with a flashlight. He walked deeper and deeper into the darkness, until he saw a faint light at the end.
He reached the light and was surprised to see a large room filled with colorful crystals and sparkling gems. He was amazed by the sight and wanted to touch them. But as he approached, he heard a loud roar that made him jump. He turned around and saw a huge monster with green scales, yellow eyes, and sharp teeth. He was terrified and ran back to the entrance, but the monster was faster and blocked his way.
"Please don't eat me!" Sam cried. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to disturb you. I just wanted to see your cave."
The monster looked at him and smiled. "Don't worry, little boy. I won't eat you. I'm not a bad monster. I'm a friendly monster. My name is Zog. What's yours?"
Sam was confused and relieved. He stopped crying and introduced himself. "My name is Sam. I live near the forest with my dog, Spot. He's waiting for me outside."
Zog nodded and said, "I see. Well, Sam, you are very brave to come here. Most people are afraid of me and run away when they see me. But you are different. You are curious and adventurous. I like that. Do you want to be my friend?"
Sam thought for a moment and said, "Yes, I do. You seem nice and kind. And your cave is very beautiful. Can I see more of it?"
Zog smiled and said, "Of course. Come, I'll show you around. And maybe later, you can introduce me to your dog, Spot. I like dogs. They are cute and loyal."
Sam agreed and followed Zog into the cave. They talked and laughed and had a lot of fun. They became good friends and visited each other often. Sam learned a lot about Zog and his world, and Zog learned a lot about Sam and his world. They realized that they had more in common than they thought. They both liked to explore, to play, and to make new friends.
And that's how Sam met Zog, the friendly monster.
